Dubrovnik, called the “Pearl of Adriatic” in the most southern part of Croatia, is the most prominent sailing destination of the Adriatic. The city was founded in the 7th century. Maritim trade with salt, coal a.m. was of great importance allready in the early medieval times. During medieval times the Republic of Regusa was the only Adriatic city-state that could be a rival to Venice. Through its` wealth and skilled diplomacy, the city developed to be an important and high level center for science and culture in the 15th and 16th century with its poets, painters, mathe, maticians and physicists.
The coastal area of Dubrovnik with the long row of beautiful islands, green valleys, nature parks, medieval towns, old recidences, cosy restaurants and warm, clean water invites its sailors to uforgettable vacations.
